FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: disk cam of the cam gear has a cam made out of medium carbon steel, carbon content is 0.42-0.63 wt %, and a roller slot, its external and internal work surfaces are hardened using HF currents to the depth of at least 1.5 mm, and have the hardness of at least HRA 74-76. The height of the hardened layer is at least 3/4 of the slot depth. The hardening method of the disk cam of the cam gear with the roller slot includes the cam location with a temporary clearance in the inductor for heating and cooling in turn of external and internal work surfaces of the slot. The cam is installed on the table of the hardening tank, ensuring its vertical movement. A screen is located on the bottom of the slot. An inductor with a magnetic core is inserted in the slot by lifting the table. The table position is locked, and the uniformity of the temporary clearance is regulated by the cam horizontal movement. The slot external surface is heated without rotation to 880-910°C, then it is cooled in water with the table movement downwards. The steam jacket is removed, the inductor is replaced, and hardening is repeated for the slot internal surface.
EFFECT: reduced labour intensity of the cam gear manufacturing.
