FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method of explosion suppression of gas-vapour-air and dust-air mixtures is claimed, which includes the delivery of powdered material using shock wave energy to the seat of fire. Creation in it of the powdered material concentration sufficient to inhibit the explosion hazardous environment during the time sufficient to suppress the flame. The powdered material for inhibition of the explosion hazardous environment is used as nanodispersed powder. For the implementation of the claimed method the explosion suppressing device is used. The device comprises an outer casing formed as two movable flaps fastened by the fixing means. Inside the casing a capsule with powdered material is placed, in which the means of destroying the capsule and the outer casing is mounted. The means of destroying is made in the form of an explosive charge. The capsule is filled with a powdered material made in the form of a nanodispersed powder. The fixing means is made in the form of film tape coated with the adhesive, mounted on the parting line of the flaps. The means of destroying of the capsule and the outer casing additionally comprises a toothed blade mounted on one of the flaps and made in the form of a U-shaped bracket. The cutting part of the blade rests in a standby mode on the inner surface of the other flap.

EFFECT: invention enables to inhibit the propagating flame of the explosive wave while its extinguishing.
