FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for stereoselective α-hydroxyalkylation of glycine by its introduction in form of Schiff base in coordination sphere of complex Ni(II) with chiral ligand ((S)-2N-(N'-benzylpropyl)aminobenzophenone), after which interaction with reagent is realised. As reagent and solvent applied is aliphatic alcohol and one-pot electrochemical process by galvanostatic electrolysis of said mixture in presence of KOH is carried out. Target products are separated by known methods.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain target optically active β-hydroxy-α-amino acids in technological and convenient way with application of cheaper and available reagents.
