FIELD: packaging industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a package for food products and more particularly confectionery. The flexible package (14) comprises one or more section of flexible material (16) located to form an inner cavity closed by means of seams (18, 22, 24), in which the opposing areas of the material are joined together. At least one seam (22) has reed portions (30) in which the material is not connected to the opposite area of the material. The material (16) has a property of directional fracturing and is oriented so that to be torn preferably in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the said seam. The package is opened by pulling the reed portions (30), so that the material is torn along either side of the reed portions as the tear strip. The material (16) may consist solely of a single layer of polypropylene film of uniaxial orientation. The reed portions (30) may be formed in the end seam (22), so that the material is torn in the longitudinal direction of the package. The package can be in-line wrapping package.

EFFECT: improved quality of the package.
