FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: flat chain link (2) for a drive chain (1), upon link vertical orientation, in area of arms (4, 4.1), connecting both elbows (8, 9), has in vertical direction the arm height H, that is smaller than maximum width of the arm BS. The maximum width of the arm BS in vertical direction is located beyond the centre, as well as with displacement to external side (11) of the arm. In its turn the maximum width of the arm BS is larger than width determining the nominal diameter N of the chain link in area of its elbows. The elbows area determining the nominal diameter N of the chain link is limited by the arc-like area of several angular degrees, covering maximum 10 degrees to both sides from middle plane (10) dividing the elbows in transverse direction. Starting from the arm width BS the link width in its elbows continuously reduces to the arc-like area determining the nominal diameter of the link N.
EFFECT: increased strength of chain link.
