FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water treatment systems, particularly, to water purification systems with gravity feed. Claimed filter comprises the filtering element of cellular foam material with multiple pores for water filtering and is adapted for retention of multiple biological organisms in said pores of filtering element, accumulation reservoir for collection of water filtered by said filtering element made of foamed material, and filter outlet communicated with accumulation reservoir for water distribution from the filter. Said filtering element is compacted to increase the number of threads per volume unit inside said filtering element. It comprises the nutritive components arranged inside one or several pores in fabrication of said filtering element from foamed material for nutrition of biological organisms.
