FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of ionising air includes dividing air into a cooled stream and a heated stream in a vortex tube while providing condensation of moisture contained in the cooled air stream, and removing air streams ionised outside the vortex tube due to the ballo-electric effect. The cooled ionised stream at the outlet of the vortex tube is exposed to a magnetic field and then divided into multiple separate jets, and the diametrically opposite jets are directed towards each other to facilitate impact-dynamic interaction thereof. The apparatus for carrying out said method comprises a vortex tube (1), pipes for tangential air supply (4), a swirler (2), pipes for outlet of the cooled (5) and heated (6) air streams and a throttle (3), installed in a pipe (6) for outlet of heated air. The vortex tube at the outlet of cooled air is provided with a separator (11) with channels (12) uniformly distributed around its periphery, said channels extending into a cylindrical mixer (13) which is in the form of a chamber on the outer side of the separator, wherein the outlet openings of the channels are arranged in pairs in diametrically opposite manner. The pipes (5) for outlet of cooled air are provided with two annular permanent magnets (9, 10), which encircle said pipes (5) and are mounted on the end planes of the swirler (2).
EFFECT: group of inventions increases the degree of ionisation of air.
