SUBSTANCE: object of present invention is an apparatus and a method for efficient extraction of a capsule from a container of a beverage preparation machine. In particular, said apparatus allows to extract a used capsule in a safe manner and without losing time waiting. Apparatus for preparing beverages comprising a container with a cover, for inserting a capsule containing a beverage ingredient. Apparatus comprises means for pulling and guiding means consisting of a clamp having members disposed on each side of container lid. Capsule is provided with a rim extending around its upper edge which is directed upwards when capsule is inserted into container. When opening container lid, clamp is activated so that its components are located below said rim of said capsule, which is raised by action of a spring situated at bottom of capsule. Two clip members located on each side of capsule form a slope, directed at an angle to horizontal plane. Said angle is determined so as to force capsule to slide along clip members by gravity as long as it does not fall into container for collecting capsules located near container.

EFFECT: efficient extraction of capsule from a container of a beverage preparation machine.
