SUBSTANCE: invention relates to beverage preparation devices using capsules with an ingredient. The capsule for beverage preparation includes a container with a beverage ingredient therein which contains at least one substrate adapted for connection to the capsule or representing its part. The container includes a cup-shaped body with a projecting rim and a lid connected thereto; the substrate is placed on the lower side of the rim opposite the lid. The substrate contains a segment where several sequential symbols are written so that each symbol may be sequentially read with the help of an outer reading device in the process of the capsule rotation round its axis. Each symbol sequence contains a set of encoded information related to the capsule. According to the invention, the capsule ensures a reliable and convenient reading of information due to exclusion of symbol sequences clogging with residues of beverage prepared because the symbol sequences are positioned distant from the lid wherethrough beverage components introduction and removal are performed. The symbol sequences can not be misrepresented in case of inaccurate centring of the lid or the body in the process of their assembling. Additionally, the beverage preparation system with such capsule and the beverage preparation method are disclosed.
