FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of arc spraying by arc spraying molten bronze under the flow of nitrogen excludes oxidation and burning of alloying elements enhancing corrosion resistance, hardness and wear resistance of the coatings. Surface to be plated is pre-coated with paste composition in a thickness of from 1.0 mm to 5.0 mm. Composition consists of a liquid phenol formaldehyde resole resin capable of forming at a temperature above 700°C is not less than 50% by weight of coke of starting material, filled with urea, wherein the weight ratio of dried resin to the urea content, wt.%, Is from 50:50 to 10:90. This is followed by deposition of molten bronze arc electrodes jet flow of nitrogen present in the cylinder at a pressure of 2 to 10 atm.
EFFECT: completely eliminated burning of alloying elements and the formation of metal oxides in the arc spraying process, while increasing the surface hardness and wear resistance of the coating due to nitride formation in the interaction of metals comprising the electrode and the surface to be plated with an activated nitrogen.
