FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 1,3-dimethyladamantane of formula (2) given below by reacting skeletal isomerisation of perhydroacenaphthene of following formula (1) with application as catalysts from 0.5 to 1.5 weight parts of HF and from 0.1 to 0.5 weight parts BF3 to 1 weight part of perhydroacenaphthene at a temperature of 60-110 °C.
EFFECT: use of the represented method enables producing 1,3-dimethyladamantane with high output.
