FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method of processing carbon-containing invar alloy includes hardening and deformation-thermal hardening. Heating for hardening is carried out to 1200-1350°C, after tempering cold deformation with degree of 20 70%, and heat treatment is performed, at least in two stages. At first stage alloy is heated to 700÷800°C and held for 0.5÷10 hours, at second alloy is maintained at temperature of 450÷650°C for 1.0÷10 hours and then cooled in air. Method of thermal and deformation treatment ensures production of carbon-containing invar alloys with temperature coefficient of linear expansion from 0.5 to 7·10-6 K-1 and high strength of up to 1600÷2000 MPa.

EFFECT: obtaining high-strength carbon-containing invar alloys.
