FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: rectifier-inverter converter serves to supply traction motors of electric rolling stock, receiving power from AC network, and can operate in rectifier and inverter modes. Converter comprises power traction transformer (1) with sectioned secondary winding and rectifier bridges, made on thyristors (3÷10) and connecting the secondary winding with traction motors (2), as well as forced switching unit consisting of switching capacitor (13) connected in parallel to circuit of series-connected switching thyristor (20) and throttle (21), and first additional thyristor (12) with anode group arms rectifier bridges, and second additional thyristor (11) to cathode group arms rectifier bridges. To achieve technical result of expansion of range of stable operation of converter, it is additionally includes source of charging voltage in form of a bridge on diodes (16÷19), alternating current terminals of which are connected to one of sections of secondary winding of power traction transformer, and DC terminals are connected through charging thyristors (14 and 15) to appropriate outputs of unit forced switching, and refill thyristor (22), connected anti-parallel switching thyristor.
EFFECT: wider range of stable operation of converter.
