FIELD: physics, signalling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire alarms and can be used as a self-contained smoke detector for detecting increase in the optical density of air from infrared radiation scattering strength. The self-contained smoke detector has a battery supply, a controller, an optical indicator, a voltage-to-current converter, an emitting infrared diode, a photodiode, two terminals, a piezoelectric radiator, two resistors and a capacitor.
EFFECT: providing the required current consumption in stand-by mode, where it is possible to make a self-contained alarm with a built-in battery with an operating life of 10 years or more.
