FIELD: antenna technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna technology. Planar phased array antenna to form a beam scanning and comprising: a planar waveguide formed by the upper and lower conductive screens with a dielectric layer there between; phased array comprising transducers for generating an electromagnetic wave front within the planar waveguide; at least one rear reflective structure disposed behind the phased array; at least one deflecting structure in the dielectric layer so as to deflect the front of the electromagnetic wave within the waveguide, wherein the dielectric constant of said yoke structure is not equal to the permittivity of said dielectric waveguide layer. Upper conductive shield may be shorter than the lower conductive shield. Planar phased array antenna may further comprise means for converting the vertically polarized wave in said planar waveguide into horizontally polarized space wave generated along the outer edge of the planar waveguide.
EFFECT: technical result is the ability to produce compact phased array antenna that provides a maximum scanning angle of the beam of not less than ±75 degrees.
