FIELD: radio engineering and communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for noise-robust speech coding mode classification. Classification parameters are entered into speech from external components. Internal classification parameters are generated in speech classifier from at least one of input parameters. Threshold value of normalised function of autocorrelation coefficients is set. Parameter analyser is selected according to signal propagation medium. Speech mode classification is determined based on noise estimate multiple input speech frames.

EFFECT: technical result is improved speech mode classification to improve efficiency of multi-mode variable bit rate coding.
