FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: claimed process consists in the separation of a portion of a gas pipeline fluid to drive an electric generator shaft and conversion of mechanical power of revolution into electric power. Note here that the gas pipeline connected with the gas source is used to convert the source gas potential energy into the fluid flow kinetic energy by forcing the gas into the gas pipeline. Compressor stations are arranged inside the latter to up the fluid flow kinetic energy by the conversion of the compressor station working member energy into the compressed gas potential energy. The latter is, then, converted into the flow kinetic energy and directed into the loopings located between the compressor stations and equipped with impeller machines. Then, the kinetic energy of a separated portion of the flow is converted into the mechanical energy of the impeller machine mechanical power. The said machines are coupled via reduction gearboxes with the shafts of electrical generators to convert the kinetic energy of the latter into electric power to supply the gas pipeline cathodic protection devices.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of the process.
