FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgy equipment and can be used in production of aluminium hydroxide from saturated aluminate solutions. Installation for crystallisation of aluminium hydroxide from aluminate solutions or suspensions includes apparatus for crystallisation 7 with branch pipe 12 in its upper part, evaporator 1 connected with vacuum system. Branch pipes for inlet 2 and outlet 3 solution or suspension are located in upper and lower parts of evaporator 1. Branch pipe 3 is connected with hydraulic lock, consisting of two parallel vertical pipes 8, 9 interconnected by flow channel 10. In lower part of hydraulic lock pipe 9 connected to upper branch pipe 12 to receive solution or suspension in device 7 for crystallisation, there is branch pipe 11 for air supply equipped with shutoff valves 13. Ratio of height (h0) of pipe 9 to height (H) of tube 8 is h0/H≤1.0.
EFFECT: invention increases utilisation of plant, stabilises operation, longer life.
