FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for determining presence and/or distribution of barrier layer, contained in wall of tubular package. Device comprises a source of infrared radiation and infrared radiation receiver, wherein source and receiver are arranged so that infrared radiation is transmitted and received through tube wall part containing barrier layer to be analysed. Invention also relates to a method of determining presence and/or distribution of barrier layer, contained in wall to determine presence and/or distribution of package of tubular shape, which includes transmission of infrared radiation through wall of tube containing barrier layer, reception and analysis of infrared radiation.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of production line and quality of fabricated package, as well as reduced amount of wastes.
