FIELD: space exploration; ecology.
SUBSTANCE: method for cleaning near-Earth space environment from space debris involves formation of brake screen, braking elements of space debris due to collision with screen, shifting elements of space debris to lower orbit, gradual braking elements of space debris against the Earth's atmosphere, and further combustion of space debris elements in the Earth atmosphere. Parameters of collector spacecraft orbit are selected so that movement direction of collector spacecraft at orbit apogee and elements of space debris would coincide, and natural deceleration of collector spaceship with trapping brake screen occurred in apogee segment of orbit, down to speeds lower than average speed of space debris elements within flow, to specified values.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of cleaning cosmic space from debris.
