FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to astroinertial navigation systems, in which main navigation information is corrected as per signals supplied from output of astro sighting device. It is characterised by that for detecting sighted star in presence of high level background noise accumulator is formed, consisting of N registers for storing N last tele-unit output signals, and cyclic counter, changing from one to N on each cycle of tele-unit output signal arrival. Current tele-unit output signal is stored in accumulator register, which number is determined by value of cyclic counter. To increase accuracy of determining coordinates of sighted star in presence of high-level background noise gradient, number of accumulator register is defined as current value of counter and 3/4 of number N of accumulator registers taken by modulus N.
EFFECT: high accuracy of viewing star owing to compensation for background noise gradient.
