FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to noise reduction, namely to cells of sound-absorbing structure of resonance type. Device comprises resonance cell for suppression of acoustic waves, which consists of chamber and inlet made in form of truncated circular cone. Smaller base of chamber and inlet are cylindrical neck, forming passage of acoustic waves in chamber, wherein working volume of cell is equal to total volume of inlet neck and chamber of cell. During operation device creates monochromatic acoustic barrier for propagation of acoustic wave. At that, geometrical parameters of the cell such as height and diameter of inlet, neck, chamber are selected depending on operating frequency range of engine noise.
EFFECT: high efficiency of sound absorption.
