FIELD: glass.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sheet glass in regenerative glass-melting furnaces of continuous action, namely to forced cooling of refractory masonry of glass-melting furnaces boiling tank. Method for glass melting furnace cooling involves blowing of external surface of the boiling tank furnace refractory surface in hotspot zone. During blowing refractory surface ambient temperature is measured at level glass mass surface, residual thickness of refractory surface is determined, and blowing rate is controlled based on maximum and minimum speed values in range of control with account of grade parameters of functional dependence and residual thickness of refractory material. Glass melting furnace cooling method uses device including electrically driven blower, air manifold, air supply ducts, slotted nozzles arranged along walls of furnace boiling tank. Device also contains temperature sensors located along perimeter of boiling tank walls at outer side at level of glass mass surface, temperature transducers signals adder, connected with them by current conducting lines. Device includes programming unit with computer connected via fibre optic cable with adder, with possibility to convert signal from adder into numerical value of glass melting furnace refractory masonry blowing rate, blower electric drive frequency converter connected with programming unit to computer with help of cable, which enables to transmit digital or analog signal.
EFFECT: technical result of this invention is improving energy efficiency of glass-melting furnaces due to energy saving in boiling tank refractory masonry external cooling system.
