SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining. In particular, a method is proposed to select objects in drilled oil and gas wells for hydraulic fracturing of a formation at sites with sections with non-produced - residual - "pillars" of oil, including the steps of: examining wells being drilled with a tiltmeter, identifying with its help natural subvertical and vertical cracks within the said sections including not crossing the wellbore ones, constructing based on statistical processing of the tiltmeter readings a polar diagram - a "rose" of directional attitudes distribution for natural subvertical and vertical cracks in the productive formation, then the polar diagram-"rose" of directional attitudes for natural fractures in the productive formation with coordinates of their vertical and subvertical spatial orientation in the wellbore environment within the range of 60-90 degrees registered for each productive object in a certain wellbore, with the position of this well on the map of distribution of current or residual reserves of the site, and that very well is selected for formation hydraulic fracturing, which solution with the angular characteristic within 15-20 degrees of directional attitudes of natural subvertical and vertical cracks gets more than 60 % of the cross-diameter of the residual oil "pillar" area.

EFFECT: high efficiency of formation hydraulic fracturing method for sites with sections with non-produced residual oil pillars.
