SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for well servicing in oil and gas industry and can be used for gripping and extraction of balls from the well, including balls made from nonmagnetic materials, left in the well after the various technological operations using balls. Downhole ball catcher comprises cylindrical hollow housing of rigidly connected to each other separate hollow sections, inside the cavity of each section there is at least one hook made in the form of elastic, at least, one-layer plate rigidly attached by one of its edges to the housing section at an acute angle with the possibility of angular movement at action of force. Plate is arc-shaped in cross section. Through groove shape and dimensions of which correspond to those of the plate in plan are made in the housing section opposite the concave surface of the plate.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of catcher.
