FIELD: rocket science.

SUBSTANCE: deployable nozzle for a rocket engine comprises at least a stationary divergent segment and a movable divergent segment that is coaxial about stationary divergent segment and suitable for moving along stationary divergent segment from a retracted position towards a deployed position. Nozzle also comprises a transverse stiffener that is pre-stressed in tension and that extends transversely relative to movable divergent segment in vicinity of a downstream end of said segment between at least two points at periphery of an inside wall of movable divergent segment. Another invention of the group relates to rocket engine having said deployable nozzle.

EFFECT: group of inventions allows to reduce natural oscillations of movable divergent segment of nozzle.
