FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elevator engineering, namely to devices for safety of elevators. Catcher contains a base, on which there is a block bearing a spring installed with its ends in a brake shoe interacting with a guide, as well as a wedge and a roller, herewith, according to the patented solution, the brake shoe is made with stroke limiters, rests on the ends of the spring and is pressed through the spring by means of a bracket to the block. In the base there is a support in the form of an axle bearing the roller, on which the wedge rests made with a recess and two inclined planes converging to the recess to make two wedge surfaces. Wedge has stroke limiters and a pressure spring secured at the ends of the wedge and fixing the initial position of the wedge by pressing the wedge recesses to the roller and the wedge surfaces to racks secured to the base above and below the roller. Herewith the wedge can move upwards or downwards between the base and a jaw interacting with the roller, and the brake shoe is made with the possibility of its movement from one extreme position to the other one between the base and the jaw interacting via the spring with the block. Wedge and brake shoe can interact with the guide when being seated on catchers and simultaneously move in the same direction up or down till stop against the base by the stroke limiters of the brake shoe and of the wedge.

EFFECT: technical result the patented solution is improved safety and reliability of braking due to double-acting of the elevator cabin catcher, providing stable braking conditions, kinematic certainty of interaction of the catcher parts when being seated on catchers, simplified design.
