SUBSTANCE: invention relates to weapons, namely to small arms box magazines. Box magazine comprises a housing for cartridges and feeder with a spring. Feeder spring has elliptical wire turns of strip steel of rectangular cross-section in the form of a conical bellow. Spring turns are made with two, three or more different areas and arranged so, that two, three and more located nearby different turns in the compressed state are laid on one plane one inside another, and spring turns are arranged during compression in horizontal and vertical planes in two, three or more rows.

EFFECT: higher rigidity of spring compression, smooth during compression and rectification of each turn in initial position, preservation of reliable cartridge feed in the chamber, increased magazine volume with preservation of overall dimensions.
