SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power industry, in particular to method and device of wires' oscillation damping for overhead transmission lines and fibre-optic cable communication lines. Method involves using as oscillation damping means a wire spiral, spiral tube 2, which are manufactured, for example, of composite polymer material. Wire spirals 2 with end parts 3 with length of at least two pitches of spiral are rigidly fixed on a wire (cable) 1, and the middle part of the length of not less than one pitch of spiral is in a form of spring turns 4 freely and symmetrically located above and along the longitudinal axis 5 of wire (cable) 1. Wire spiral 2 with supporting ends 3 is rigidly fixed on wire (cable) 1, and their middle part 4 is manufactured with increased spiral pitch and is tightly wounded on wire (cable) 1.
EFFECT: proposed method and device allow effective control of dancing and vibration of wires (cables).
