FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to toner containing sustainable material. Described is amorphous polyester toner resin consisting of a depolymerized polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyol monomer, diacid monomer or anhydride thereof and an optional diol; wherein said diacid comprises a biodegradable diacid and a non-biodegradable diacid; said PET polyol comprises ethylene terephthalate and PET oligomers; wherein PET polyol has the molecular weight of from approximately 200 to approximately 5,000 g/mol; dibasic acid monomer or its anhydride includes trimellitic anhydride and amber anhydride; optional diol includes biodegradable diol and non-biodegradable diol or both; toner resin additionally includes an optional polyol, optional polyacid or both; wherein the optional polyol and optional polyacid include at least three functional groups; and toner resin has the content of sustainable components of about 70 %. Also described is a toner particle containing the above amorphous polyester resin, as well as an optional second amorphous resin and optional crystalline resin.
EFFECT: obtaining toner consisting of mainly biodegradable materials.
