SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to viscoelastic fluid media, thickened acid compositions, as well as methods for using them. Aqueous viscoelastic fluid medium for underground formation processing, containing at least one composition of gelling agent, where the said composition of gelling agent contains at least one viscoelastic surfactant of the given general formula, and a system of solvents, which contains water, monoatomic alcohol and diatomic or polyatomic alcohol, at a weight ratio of the said monoatomic alcohol and the said diatomic or polyatomic alcohol from 1.0 to 2.2. Method of underground formation acidizing includes introduction of the said aqueous viscoelastic fluid medium into the said formation, where the said medium contains at least one acid. Invention is developed in depending points of the formula.
