FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and is intended for use in hydraulic power industry, but may be used in other industries. Method for imparting motion to rotor consists in that torque is generated with maximum use of reaction of incoming fluid. To this end, liquid is passed in rotor at largest acute angle as possible in a radial direction. Hydraulic turbine rotor includes blades secured between upper and lower rims so that line which connects points on leading and trailing edges of blades on side of flow in cross section between rims, forms with radius of rotor an angle greater than 45°, but less than 180°(n-2)/2n, where n is number of blades greater than eight. Blades between rims to downwards bent part by on flow side are convex, and on opposite side facing direction of rotation of rotor - concave.
EFFECT: invention enables to use hydraulic turbine rotor in area of both high and low pressure of up to 40 m.
