FIELD: energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat engineering and can be used at thermal power plants for monitoring strength of responsible equipment during its operation, for example, of steam lines and structural elements of high pressure equipment. Core: periodically at a stop of the equipment by a known method availability and level of microdamages of the outer surface of the inspected component are checked. When a set dangerous value of the above said level is achieved from the non-responsible part of the inspected component a series of several identical samples of round cross section is made. Each of the above said samples is tested for breaking with heating the sample to create at loading creep conditions in it. Residual life of the inspected part is estimated by mathematical processing of results of the said testing. Herewith each of the said samples is applied with an acute circular notch simulating by a known method the achieved microdamages level on the surface of the inspected component, and the specified value of mechanical stress in the above said sample during testing it is maintained within the smooth part of the sample outside the said annular cut.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of taking into account when testing samples the microdamages level of the inspected component and performing the said tests at operating parameters of this part operation.
