SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and system for temporal data warehouses and platform independent temporal data warehouse load application. System includes a temporal data warehouse and an incoming data set, wherein incoming data includes a snapshot of data from a source database, a processor unit coupled to said storage device and programmed to divide incoming data set into a plurality of partitions including a first partition and a second partition. Method includes detecting that an active data record in a temporal data warehouse is not associated with a data record in incoming data set. Executing an implicit delete of active data record based on said detecting. Determining an earliest source timestamp associated with a first data record in incoming data set. Identifying a set of primary keys. Second partition is imported into pre-load table based on identified set of primary keys. Pre-load table is loaded in temporal data warehouse.
EFFECT: technical result is elimination of outdated data.
