FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method is intended for a conventional lathe and conventional NC machine. Alignment mark selected in the coordinate system is put on a workpiece that has a rear end, then the workpiece is correctly positioned on the machine relative to the coordinate system, cutter on the machine support is placed at the specified distance from the rear end. Workpiece is rotated, and the cutter is imparted a required movement that manifests itself in the transverse feed of slides into the cutting depth and longitudinal movement of support with supply equal to cut thread pitch. Thread is cut on a workpiece with the conical surface with preset for thread tightness, and the cutter is placed at a distance from the main plane of thread with due allowance for deviation of Δ actual tightness from the nominal value.
EFFECT: simplified thread cutting, reduced metal consumption and higher accuracy of a finished part owing to compensation for deviation of actual tightness from the nominal value, which is necessary to ensure the required relative orientation of thread connected parts.
