FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to insert for vehicle rear window. Insert is fitted in rear window, having common periphery with first peripheral part and second peripheral part. First peripheral part faces rear window, and second peripheral part faces outside of rear window. Insert has for sliding in receiving rear window in area of first peripheral part of edge profile with U-shaped at least partially at first peripheral part and which is connected with rear window by first adhesive layer. Edge U-shaped profile is formed by bearing wall, which is held by strap on surface of lower side of insert. To seal cutout relative to insert, at least in area of joint of outer surface of bearing wall and end edge surface bearing wall between insert and rear window there is third adhesive layer.

EFFECT: achieved is prevention of ingress of moisture or water into gap formed between rear window and insertion.
