FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to special containers intended for safe transportation, storage and maintenance of radioactive cargoes, especially in conditions of high risk, as well as in conditions of emergencies. Container for radioactive hazardous cargoes comprises a metal cylindrical housing with covers, multilayer capsule placed inside the housing, having a cylindrical part connected with plugs placed on ends by cement-concrete mixture with an acid resistant powder. Said capsule is arranged independently from the housing, represents a three-layer capsule made of cast basalt similar synthetic mineral alloy, external layer of the capsule is made of separate relief elements, in each plug of the external layer of the capsule on the inner side there is a cavity to be filled with damping material. In the middle layer of the capsule there are damping inserts. Middle layer and inner layer of the capsule have a smooth surface.
EFFECT: invention allows creating a reliable, simple design of the container, protected from unstructured loads, with maximum holding capacity with respect to hazardous cargo.
