FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to suction head (20) for a dredging vessel. Suction head (20) comprises box shaped construction (21) provided at bottom side with a suction opening (22) with a connection for suction conduit (3) of dredging vessel (1). Said suction head further includes rear wall (23) and front wall (29,26e). Each extends transverse to direction of movement. Side walls (25a, 25b) extend substantially parallel to direction of movement. Upper wall (24) is provided at side turned away form bottom. Front wall (8) comprises fixed front part (29). Rear wall, side walls and fixed front part form a rigid unit. Rear wall (23) with its lower side is provided with cutting tools (30) to form a space formed between them, which provide suction of mixture of material. Front wall (29, 26e) comprises movable part (26e) moving together with profile of bottom and sealing suction hole on side of upstream relative to cutting tools. Dredging device comprises a dredging vessel suction head connected with dredging vessel, soil pump with suction connection located on dredging vessel. Suction pipeline connects suction head with suction connection of soil pump. Supporting device is located between dredging vessel and suction head for support of suction pipeline and control of depth of suction head of device. Disclosed is a method of dredging material from bottom under water using dredging vessel equipped with suction head or using dredging device in which suction head is towed along bottom which must be dredged. Only cutting tools are in contact with bottom. Movable wall part of the front wall of suction head moves together with profile of bottom.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of dredging solid soil.
