Wiping device for a motor vehicle pane, comprises a wind deflector and a retaining unit having a retaining element with a longitudinal guide channel for guiding a spring element to be placed in the channel. Retaining element has a fastening means, free end of which faces the longitudinal guide channel and which is provided to interlock with the wind deflector. Fastening means and side walls of the retaining element form an obtuse angle.
