SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines having a device for treatment of waste gas, into which a liquid additive is fed. Method of operating dosing device (1) for a liquid additive is intended for a device having at least one pump (2) with movable pumping element, which to supply the liquid additive makes feeding motions, and at least one injector (4), which by means of discharge pipeline (5) is connected to the discharge side of pump (2) and can be opened for dosing the liquid additive. Method includes at least the following steps: a) opening injector (4), b) feeding the liquid additive and counting the feeding motions during dosing, c) closing injector (4), and d) comparing the number of feeding motions determined at step b) with the time of opening injector (4) between step a) and step b) for diagnostics of dosing device (1) operation. Invention discloses a dosing device and a vehicle with an engine having the dosing device.

EFFECT: technical result is higher dosing accuracy and reliability.
