FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to pressing of hollow profiles from special steels and alloys, as well as from titanium. Reduced thickness variation in articles is ensured by that device comprises a container, male die, matrix, provided with a centering cup, press-needle, working end of which is located in centering cup, wherein press-needle has central axial blind hole, and at least with four slots uniformly distributed on its surface, in which there are movable segments. Matrix is placed in die holder, centering cup is placed in matrix hole, heated workpiece with an axial hole is fed into press container, male die with press-washer and press-needle, installed in axial hole of workpiece, method includes movement and extrusion of metal of workpiece into matrix hole using die, wherein after installation of press-needle in axial hole of workpiece, segments of pressure needle are separated until contact with inner surface of workpiece, and workpiece is positioned to provide its alignment with matrix.
EFFECT: pressing hollow profiles.
