FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: catheter which has two electrodes is introduced into heart area through patient's venous system. Contacts of electrodes are switched to outlet of generator of electric pulses. Electric pulse of generator, forming electric field between electrodes, is supplied to electrodes. Pulse is synchronised with specified segment of patient's cardiogram. One electrode is positioned into the centre of chamber of the right, and the other one into the centre of chamber of the left atrium in such a way that electrodes are located at a distance from myocardium and do not have direct contact with it. Zones of high gradients of electric field, formed when discharge current of electric pulse of generator acts near electrodes, are located in blood, non-sensitive to pain.
EFFECT: reduction of pain action with application of relatively large energies in pulse due to the fact that zones of high gradients of electric field are located at maximal distance from myocardium tissues.
