FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for separation of butyl butyrate (BB) - oleic acid (OA) azeotropic mixture, with relative volatility values close to one, involves extraction rectification using sulfolane (SF) as a separating agent at a ratio of 1:3-4 in an extraction rectification column with the efficiency of 35-50 theoretical plates (t.p.), and reflux ratio of 1-3; the distillation product is butyl butyrate, oleic acid - sulfolane mix in the column bottom (1); OA - SF mix is then transferred to a regenerator for separation agent recovery (2), regenerator efficiency is 10 t.p., reflux ratio 1-2, separation agent from the column bottom (2) is transferred to column (1), where pressure in column (1) is 760 mm Hg, pressure in column (2) 100 mm Hg. Target products (BB, OA) of specified purity - 99.5 mol.%.
EFFECT: process simplification, reduction of capital expenditure, improved quality of the target products.
