SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Method of encoding video data, in which signalized in a bit stream is a syntax element, which indicates, that wave parallel processing (WPP) is used for coding an image of video images sequence, herewith when the syntax element indicates, that WPP is used for coding an image, each string of the image coding tree blocks (CTB) forms one mosaic element; WPP is performed to form a plurality of sub-streams, herewith each of the sub-streams includes a successive series of bits, which represents one of the CTB strings, wherein none of the sub-streams contains coded bits of more than one mosaic element; and formed is a network abstraction level (NAL) element of the coded slice, which includes the plurality of sub-streams.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of complexity of video coding systems implementation.
