FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves setting the workpiece in rotating centers. The pre-set position of the axis, which is carried out basing on the workpiece by the workpiece measurement of cross-sections with the definition of the coordinate of cross-section contour points, which determine the position of the centers of gravity of its cross-sections and averaging the least squares method. Then the coordinates of the points of intersection with the axis fixed ends of workpiece centering are defined and implement them with the subsequent installation of the workpiece in rotating centers.
EFFECT: reduction of technological heredity when processing workpieces of the shaft lines, which have form errors and bending of the axis.
