FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of sampling hydrocarbons of low viscosity. Method comprises conveying a downhole tool within a borehole extending into a subterranean formation, creating a void in a sidewall of borehole by extending a rotating member from downhole tool into sidewall, directing downhole tool inside borehole so as to create a cavity in a plane, having highest two types of pressure in well at depth of void, mechanically compressing a portion of sidewall surrounding void, reducing viscosity of hydrocarbons in subterranean formation proximate void by injecting a fluid from downhole tool into formation via void and drawing fluid, comprising reduced viscosity hydrocarbons from subterranean formation into downhole tool.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of pressure drop between artificially created gaps, void and downhole tool, when mixture of pumped liquid and low-viscosity oil is drawn into downhole tool.
