FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for analysing samples. Method involves selecting an analytical method, analysing a set of calibration oils and analysing samples of a set of calibration oils for chemical composition using a sensor system, wherein the sensor system comprises at least one of the following: mass sensor, infrared sensor, gas chromatography-based or chromatography-mass spectrometry system, ion mobility spectrometry system, optical spectroscopy system, "electronic nose" system, Raman spectroscopy system, laser-induced fluorescence spectrometry system, intracavity damping laser absorption spectroscopy system or resonance ionisation spectroscopy system, wherein the sensor is an "electronic nose", and the data spectrum contains a set of responses from each sensor element, wherein each element responds to a set of specific types of components.
EFFECT: technical result is determination of viscosity of bitumens and heavy oil on-site in a borehole and in real time.
