SUBSTANCE: polymerization reactor to perform polymerization reaction includes a vessel housing and a jacket covering the outer vessel housing surface and forming a channel for passage of cooling/heating medium between this jacket and the outer vessel housing surface, reactor includes device for supplying an inert gas into the channel, the vessel housing is made of a clad metal plate comprising a base metal layer that has an inner surface on the inside of the vessel housing and an outer surface on the outside of the vessel housing, and an inner surface layer of corrosion resistant metal bonded to the inner surface of the base metal layer with a thickness lower than the thickness of the base metal layer. Inventive method for producing a water-absorbent resin is also disclosed.

EFFECT: reduced heat transfer time and polymerization time, possible achievement improved performance of resin producing.
