FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: method to define main characteristics of a vehicle engine and transmission gear, where the total resisting moment in a vehicle that is attributed to moment of inertia of chassis dynamometers, is determined at the rundown by variation of angular rate of rotation of leading wheels installed on chassis dynamometers of the bench, serving as an attached mass with the available moment of inertia. The total moment of inertia of the vehicle is determined at the rundown by variation of angular rate of rotation of the elevated leading wheels using the produced characteristic of the total resisting moment in the vehicle that is attributed to the moment of inertia of chassis dynamometers. The total resisting moment in the vehicle is determined using the total moment of inertia of the vehicle and knowing the angular rate of rotation of elevated leading wheels, the tractive effort torque on leading wheels is determined at the rundown by variation of the angle rate of rotation of elevated leading wheels using the received characteristic of the total moment of inertia of the vehicle, and producing mathematical processing of measured and received parameters, the main characteristics of the engine and the transmission gear of the vehicle are defined.
EFFECT: reduced labour intensiveness and time for performance of diagnostic works, increased labour efficiency and accuracy of measurements of engine and transmission gear characteristics, extended assortment of engine and transmission gear characteristics received following the test results.
