SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rotating filters, such as disc and drum filters, in which a coating layer is used to assist the filtration. The said invention is particularly suitable for the removal of the coating layer during lime sludge filtration in the pulp and paper industry. The method for removing the coating containing lime sludge, accumulated on the disc or drum filter surface of a filter filtering lime sludge in the pulp and paper industry is that the coating is removed by means of fluid jets directed onto the filter surface above the scraper, while the filter surface during filtering process moves downward towards the scraper; the filter surface during the coating removal is rotated in the direction opposite to the rotation direction during the filtration process.
EFFECT: invention provides more simple, reliable and efficient method of coating release, using the minimum fluid amount and discharge pressure, with almost no malfunction of the device.
